Words can't express how much I adore Shawn Mendes! Maybe I'm a little too late to join the Mendes party, but... it's better late than never, right? I'm so thrilled for his new album Illuminate (coming out this month, 23rd of September). We've already heard 'Treat You Better' and 'Ruin', but 'Three Empty Words' is possibly my favorite track so far.
'No', that is the bold statement that Meghan Trainor is making with her new single: 'My Name is NO, My sign is NO, My number's NO, jams the 22-year old singer. A refreshing point of view compared to her 'All About That Bass', which received many criticism. With 'NO' Meghan wanted a song that was more raw, much more anger than her work in her first debut album Title.
I'm extremely thrilled to share you the new single of The 1975! The lads of Manchester have worked hard on the new album, I like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unware Of It (which will be released on the 26th of February). Frontman Matt Healy told last year in an interview with music blog Music Feeds, that they would spend the whole year (2015) working hard on the new record. He already explained back then: "“We’re from Manchester, Macclesfield, and the first record was about the rain, and this second record is about not being in the rain and doing whatever the fuck you want in the sun.” Sounds quite exciting, isn't it? :-)

Being a teenager is definitely not easy (and thankfully I'm over that period). From time to time this lifetime can be pretty difficult and confusing, especially when it comes to teenage love. There's nothing more exciting, passionate, intense than a teenage romance. But it can also be very confusing as well, think about all those mixed emotions that you experience! These emotions are all covered up in the new single 'Kill The Lights' of the alternative/ rock band The Dirty Jacks.
As a proud Dutchie, of course I needed to feature The Common Linnets with their song 'Calm After The Storm' as this weeks Happy Music Monday song. This duo were the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen. For all other Europeans who also watched last Saturday's final, probably noticed how outstanding this performance was.
Halfway this month indie-pop singer/ songwriter Ingrid Michaelson released her sixth album debut, called 'Lights Out'. An album full of 14 new tracks, who she wrote or co-wrote. That's what makes this EP more outstanding than her previous work, because this time Ingrid collaborated with a variety of songwriters and producers. The result? More pop than usual, but they still all sounds very 'Ingrid', only 'Lights Out' is more mature than her previous albums like'Human Again' and 'Everybody'.
Hi everybody! Let's sing this week all our troubles away with Ed Sheeran's brand new single 'Sing'. 'Cause remember, when in doubt sing it out!
'Sing' might be very different compared to Ed's previous material, but it's definitely a catch. For this single Ed collaborated with the also talented Pharrell Williams. 'Sing' is more funk and pop, but without losing the acoustic style as you can expect from the singer. Think Justin Timberlake, but with more soul and funk. Awesome.
The single will be the lead single from Ed's new album 'X', which is expected this Summer on 23 June.

Now he's back in the game with his new single 'We've Got Love', an another lyrical masterpiece of this talented Aussie.
'Da Da Da Da Dum Dum Da Dum Dum', Cher Lloyd has released her new song 'Sirenes' today! A different style than you usually would've expected from the British singer. It's less bubblegum and much more grown-up material. Think of a mid-tempo ballad and a strong voice that touches your heart deeply. Cher's second debut album 'Sorry, I'm Late' may had caused some delay, but the waiting was definitely worth it.
UK artists always do better and this band from Bristol proves this again. Coasts was one of my favorite music discoveries from 2013. Their song 'Ocean' was my summer jam of last year and I have a strong feeling that their new single 'A Rush of Blood' has the same lovely indie-rock tunes that are perfect during one of those Summer nights.
Pharrell Williams lead single 'Happy' isn't the title of his new album 'G I R L', but the new sound of the singer is definitely something that makes you happy after having a though day. It's so optimistic and cheerful that you might be finding yourself clapping and dancing on it.
Lately I have been very busy with writing my thesis and if there's one thing that always keeps me going, it's simply music. Especially strong pop/ rock music that blows through your speakers. When I was doing some search on Google, I've discovered a 90's/00's playlist. Oh my, I think I finally have met my stereo soulmate! I've enjoyed almost any single who is featured in this playlist, but there's one song that was so outstanding. From that moment this song has been on repeat. So stupid to think that I've forgotten this song, because it's AWESOME.
