Colbie Cailat has Always been one of my favorite singer-songwriters. Her music is very calming, relaxing and very beachy. Whenever I listen to her songs, it reminds me of tropical islands, spending many days at the beach and swimming across the ocean.
So it turned out a little bit of a surprise that her newest single "Hold On" is a quite different than Colbie's old sound. It's more pop, electric and more modern. Colbie takes it up to a whole new level with her new single "Hold On".
Colbie co-wrote the song with Ryan Tedder, who described Colbie's new music as "a game changer". He told Billboard Magazine: "It's gonna be a game changer. It might be one of the biggest records I've done in years. It's gonna shock people. Forget 'Bubbly,' forget 'Brighter Than The Sun,' imagine starting from a clean slate. I didn't know she could sing as good as she could, and I don't think she did either."
Well, Colbie sing definitely as good as she should on her new track. Although it's different than from her other work, Colbie proves that she is a multi-faceted singer and that she totally rocks this new style. She is changing, but also growing. I can't wait what Colbie has more in store with her upcoming album!
